How often does your traction light come on and flash?

    Re: Traction Light

It comes on whenever the rear wheels try to slip. If you are a lead-foot it will come on more often.
Unbelivable TBN trips including ALL of the lower 48 States plus 9 Canadian Provinces, 8 European Countries, 3 Caribbean Countries, Countless National Parks and have attended well over 100 TBN Events since 2001 and counting. Best of all ... fabulous friends.

Whenever you start your car, push the button and the light will come on solid. Yes your tires will spin but you wont wear your rear brakes out.

I always switch it OFF, when I get in. That way when you get the urge, you won't risk blowing a wheel sensor. (Lesson learned)

Thanks, guys. I am not a speed demon -- but I have noticed on curves (ie., highway ramp with a decent curve to it) -- if my speed is not under 30 --'sometimes' but not always, the light will flash a second or so.

I only noticed this recently -- after I put new tires (Pirellis) on the car. I am wondering if the tires are overfilled (I know with the birds the PSI should be lower than most tires ask for).

            Thanks for your responses.

Actually, the tires work better if they are inflated just a bit higher than the specs on the inside of your door call for. I keep mine at 35 lbs all round and that works well. You'll get better tire life, better cornering ability and just a slightly stiffer ride.

I don't think your traction control light shouldn't be flashing like that. Are you getting any ABS icons on the dashboard?

I agree with Rick on this one. 35 PSI works great. Both for the tire, overall performance and your car. Also, you may in fact have a bad wheel sensor. It is worth the trip to your Servicing Dealer to have them checked. (Have them check your right front first!!) I've blown that one twice!!

You confused me with the double-negative!

Nope -- my ABS icons are not lighting up.

Again -- this is only happening since I put new tires on the car. The old Sumitomos that were on the bird when I got it -- were dry-rotted.

You may have a wheel sensor going out or it may have some dirt on it, try acelerating
fast a couple of times to see if it quits.//////////

Sorry about the double negative. My ABS (automatic brain system) obviously failed me.
