Beautiful day today in NJ with bright blue skies and light breeze. Perfect weather for a hard top trip to the Chatterbox cruise night. Most people put their beauties away, but as long as it is dry, I drive little red.

I love the hard top look:-)

Yes, it is beautiful today (this weekend, as a matter of fact) but we have our two little buddies all weekend and we've been outside with them at parks, watching trains and eating lunch at Culvers (they're napping now). This year, the neighbor who shares our duplex offered to let me store Illini Bird in her garage this winter and she cleaned the empty side out for me yesterday so I put her away a little earlier this season.

The last two winters, I didn't "bag" her thinking I could drive it on nice days (with no salt or residue on the streets) but she really didn't end up going out that much so this winter I'm back to "bagging" her; I know I'll miss a few nice days but c'est la vie! Also, saving on insurance for a few months.

We got out for our Sunday Brunch Bunch today.

Met Snowbird for Brunch then cruised the Lake Ontario shore with the top down. Sun was shining was about 60 degrees and the drive was very enjoyable.

Hated to put her back into the garage but then again, we can do it again tomorrow.

I already am! You wouldn't believe the number of convertibles I saw this weekend "top down!" I almost wish my neighbor hadn't offered and I hadn't "bagged" her up already; oh well, what's done is done.

PS - It IS really nice to have both my other cars (Acura MDX & Toyota Prius) garaged now that the third one (Illini Bird) is stored next door. No more scraping windows to get snow and ice off this winter at 5 am and freezing taking the MDX to the train station. My car will be "toasty" for me every morning this winter.

Could be a back and forth til winter really comes for good.

I already am! You wouldn't believe the number of convertibles I saw this weekend "top down!" I almost wish my neighbor hadn't offered and I hadn't "bagged" her up already; oh well, what's done is done.

It's called retirement! You should try it sometime. Of course my wife still has to go to work but with 2 Birds in the 2 car garage she has to scrape windows.


It really bothers me to have to stand looking out the window in my jammies with a hot cup of coffee in my hand while she does it. I do reminder her to dress warmly and wear gloves and a hat, that is just the nice kind of husband that I am! LOL

Sometimes I even push the button to start it for her if she's running late!

Thanks, now I know what to get her for Christmas. She will thank me in February (after I get out of the hospital) the wounds should have healed completely by then.

Boy, I can't wait for that day. Sue and I are planning on two years from this spring but with the financial crisis for the State of Illinois, that dream seems "iffy."

My next door neighbor just lost her husband about three weeks ago and before he died, they sold his car so there was room in their garage. We share the duplex so the car really is RIGHT next door. The only "bagging" I did was the car; at my age, the other "baggings" are just daydreams now.
