  • Most Thunderbirds per capita?

Am curious if anyone has collected data on the location (city) with the largest number of Retro Thunderbirds, per capita. I am a resident of Lima, Ohio, the home of the Ford Lima Engine Plant, which produced the 3.9 duratech that we all have tucked under the hoods of our T-Birds. Ive personnally saw at least 10 since May 09 and recently saw a 04 PCR that was covered-up in the storage building Im tucking my recently purchased 03 for the winter. Lima, Ohio is a city of approx. 40,000 people.

Anyone have a suggestion on how to gather that info?

Probably can be done by State. But by City, nearly impossible. Stats as to where they were shipped from Wixom to their DSM's. I doubt very much there is any record of where they were delivered after that. But that info was once available when we had an inside man (ie. Harry Sharp). Here now, is where we need Dot to chime in, as to the statistic of receiving DSM's.

Probably one car at a time!

This might be difficult to measure in that some of the cars you saw could have been just passing thru.......one of which could have been mine. Was there in Lima visiting friends from Columbus Grove which as you know is about 16 miles N.W. of Lima.

Harry's done it by state but don't think he's broken it down into cities, but I'm sure those state stats have changed because of buying and selling. I would assume that many will eventually gravitate to the larger cities and those with more sunshine.

I think they all eventually go to Florida.
