HI, I'm a new owner, (2005 Anniversary Edition) and would like info on purchasing a hoist for hard top removal and re-install. I've viewed several threads dealing with DIY versions and they're way beyond my skill level. So please let me know a favored commercial supplier. All info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Hoist preference
If you will go to Yahoo, Google, etc and simply do a search on Thunderbird hardtop lift or hoist you will pulll up many links to commercial providers of hardtop lifts made for our cars.Lonestar

Re: Hoist preference
I bought mine from Calif car cover www.calcarcover.com. They have it listed in their catalog for $259.99 for the manual unit. I am well pleased with it. I have the manual unit, mounts to garage ceiling with wire cable attached to boat winch, Also available is electric winch unit for $799.

Re: Hoist preference
Bob, the hoist I have is made by E-Z Top Hoists. It works manually, very easy to operate and is a quality product. If I recall it was around $169, plus shipping from Calf. about $25. One person can remove or replace the top without much effort.
I just checked their web-site and it is under construction. There is a phone # 713-694-4505. You won't be disappointed with the product. Many members have purchased this item.

Rob:
This is mine: http://www.thunderbirdnest.com/forum...ad.php?t=16231
and a lot of good people here on TBN helped me through with it as it relates to installation instructions. In fact I enjoyed reading back that far and how Russell helped me.

Edit; I just looked it up. It's from IMC: http://removabletops.com/index.php?category=6Last edited by MATBird; Nov 16, 2009, 02:56 PM.

Re: Hoist preference
http://www.eztop.com/index.html - website says they have halted production while they make a move but there are no dates given as to when they might be back up in operation or even when they started the move.
http://www.topcaplift.com/ is still around.
as is removabletops.com which George just posted a link to above.
All 3 have been used successfully by members here. all had manual and electric hoists as I recall.Limited Edition databases for 007 msg..#26 , PCR sticky, and Cashmere msg.#64
