    Re: Insulting comments

I have had only two (2) negative comments about my '05, one was that it should have had tail fins like the '57. Another was about the small trunk.

The vast majority of people who have said anything to me about the car have been complimentary. Without exception everyone seems to like the Tan top. The only add-ons I've made were a chrome Hood scoop that I got from my friend Brian Metzger (007 owner) and the pin stripes I had done by "Artie" of Surfside Beach, SC.

      Re: Insulting comments

I agree with most everyone here, who cares what someone else thinks, it's what the owner/driver thinks that really counts! I've had the same experience that Bill Brown has had since owning the car, the positive comments far outweigh the negative ones, and the negative ones stink anyway.

It's interesting that being called 'gay' or a woman is considered an insult.

It's all in your perspective. I find it insulting when people assume I'm straight.

Dave, I have had several Mercedes SL convertables, other Mercedes, Cadillacs, Lincolns and I currently have two Audi's. However,,,,, I have never been as excited about or enjoyed a car as much as my 03 Bird. I just don't give a rats !$$ about what anyone thinks.

Oh, by the way, I am gay and I do not care about anyone opinion on that either.

Just enjoy life fully each and every day and have fun with that Bird.

Charles, I appreciate your comment above. I think you know that I didn't intend to offend anyone. The comments made to me were, however, ignorant as they were, had been meant to be derogatory about the car.

I did not take offense at all. Thanks for the reply however.

Well to be honest compared to a Vette the T-Bird could be referred to as a thunderchicken and I wouldn't take it as an insult.

Maybe that's why Dave wants to sell his retro and buy a 60's bird. Years ago I had a 1960 t-bird that I lovingly referred to as the "ThunderPig"
