  • FRIEND LOOKING FOR RETRO

I went with a friend of mine from Ft. Myers to the Daytona Turkey Rod Run on Fri.( Largest car show in the South East.) looking to buy a 80s Corvette. After driving my Bird he decided to forget about the Corvette and now wants to purchase a Retro Bird.
Anyone know of a clean, low milage 02-05 red or 04 merlot with hardtop? Figured I would start here before looking on E-Bay or Auto Trader.

    Thanks,
    Ron

I know of a real nice 03 all red with red and black interrior. Has red hardtop and is in great shape. Has about 30,000 miles on it and always garaged and taken car of. No smoking car. Guy wants $20,000 for it. Have seen the car many times as he and his wife live in the same neighborhood as us. No dingles or rock chips. He lives in Lees Summit Mo. right outside KC. Let me know if you want his phone # and you can talk with him personnally. Lou

If he finds a Torch Red (is there any other color worth hunting for?), I know of a hard top available at a bargain price.

Thanks Lou, I'll keep that in mind.

Tom, I thought that you would have bought that top for yourself. Oh, I forgot, you're a top down guy only.

Hey Ron. Take a ride over to Winter Park. There is a gleaming one there. And I know where the extra set of key's are.

              Sry Tom, couldn't resist.

Dave, I figured you would know where Tom's extra key was after rummaging thru his house when you were there.

I hope that you guys are having fun. If I have to find a new spot for my second set of keys, I will never remembr where I put them.

Yes, I am a TOP DOWN man. Especially days like this: mild, in the 70s, bright sunshine, no wind. A day made for cruising in the Bird.

Ron, I hope your friend finds a Bird soon - - look what he is missing these days.

I found my Tbird on Yahoo Autos. Picked it up in PA about two hours away. Worked a fabulous deal with the auto dealer.

Believe it or not, I'd consider selling my secondary T-Bird (the 2005) if the price were right. Paid a bit of a premium for it cause of the low miles (now 1,300), however, it is located up here in North Country...in Wisconsin.

                        Found ours using auto trader.
Had to drive to Oklahoma to get it,but couldn't pass up the deal.

Just did some looking around and found a red 04 for $21,995 at the Jaguar dealer in Ft. Myers.
Doesn't look like it has a hardtop with it.

If I were in the market for a TBird at this time, the way the economy is and all, I would look for a 2005, one owner that is under an extended Ford warranty that would tranfer to me with the sale. It would also have to be the right color and have low miles and a clean history, all original and absolutly have no aftermarket stick-on junk on it. Leroy

I think I'd be more worried about someone cutting the resinator off, all that "stick-on junk" peels right off........

Ya! It will ruin the original finish also. The resinators however can easily be reinstalled.
