Open driver door and look at data plate sticker on pillar behind door by latch.
    Should be base coat/clearcoat.

Cashmere tricoat (7118) Door tag on edge of door should say G4 for color.

As you are probably aware, cashmere is a tri coat (base coat, tint coat, clear coat). The G4 base is very light – like a grayish white leaning more towards white. The tint coat is translucent and contains the gold, blue, green, and silver flakes. The trick is applying the same amount of tint as was placed on your car to get a match. Not enough and it will be too light, too much and it will be too dark. If you look at any cashmere you can see the parts that were painted by themselves prior to being placed on the car for there is color variation.

Clear is your friend if you plan to rub out the surface. You want 3 or 4 coats for you will take at least one off when buffing the final product. Of course, if you buff out the tonneau the finish will be better than the slightly orange peal factory finish.

Do you have a shop who can do a good color match or do you plan to do this yourself?

Thank You so much for the advise, I was planning on getting the paint through the Ford dealership. My freind is the Manager at the Jeep/Chrysler dealership in Houston . I was planning on having the paint work done at the Dealership . I will pass on all the information to the Manager of the Body Shop.

Thanks for your help , I'll let you know how it turns out

If you are going to a dealership, or any collision center, they are generally good at matching and they deal with tri-coats all the time. Some places even have the wiz-bang computer matching systems.

I would not get the paint from Ford - I mean Ford does not make paint and the folks at where you friend works will get the paint they are use to / like spraying.
