  • Confirmation that it's a keeper

Last Thursday, I was visiting my local Chevrolet dealer (a Chamber of Commerce thing) and looking at a new Camaro SS. The salesman stated that he expects a convertible for 2012 so I told him I'ld wait. I mentioned to my wife that evening that 2012 would be about the right time to trade in the 'Bird. Her comment:
"We're never getting rid of that Thunderbird. It can always be restored! Go ahead and buy a Camaro if you want, but you're not trading in that 'Bird!"
Prior to this (over 40 years), she has never shown the least bit of enthusiasm for any of the cars we've owned.
I guess the Thunderbird is a keeper.

Next time, ask the sales person what they would give you for the Thunderbird.
        Then, you'll KNOW it's a keeper.

Gord: Remember, I had a line of Firebirds before this T-Bird. I've had only one car that I felt like "this one's mine, I gotta have it!" That was the Trans-Am that I traded in on the Thunderbird.

          Wayne: You got that right...AMEN!

Robert: I was driving my 96 F150. I don't think the dealer even wants that one. The Thunderbird is put away for the winter. (18 degrees this morning with snow on the way. Below 0 predicted for the weekend lows.)

The visit was prompted by the local Chamber of Commerce. I belong to a group called the Chamber Ambassadors. We visit a couple of businesses one day each month to introduce ourselves and meet other business people. The Chevrolet dealer happened to be on the list this month and I thoroughly enjoy visiting car dealers. I like all brands that have 4 wheels under them.

            Randy,

Well you got it half right, you did have a "Bird" of some description.

But, thats ok, that doesn't make you a bad person............. just a little misguided!

A few more mistakes like that and she may not be saying the same about you.

                Randy

What I would really be interested in knowing is how you arrived in such an enviable position as "go ahead and get that Camaro if you want". You just don't hear wives say that every day. So, tell me: How'd you do it?

                Have fun,
