  • help with seat

Our organization wants to use the tbird for Santa and his elf. What would you suggest for seating and holding on. Any quick help would be wonderful. Joy

I suggest a midget Santa that is skinny and weighs very little. Sorry I just could not resist that. Bunny Lou

Hi Joy. You going to be in the Inverness Parade?? Check a thread Tom (My T, here) He posted a detailed report on what he did.

How large is the elf? and what is the distance?
The reason I ask is that I was the driver in a 4th of July parade here, with the grand marshall, who happened to be my brother. My brother looks like Santa Claus, he could have been the inspiration for Norman Rockwell. Anyway, he rode on the top boot. I placed pillows over the folded top before the boot went on. It worked well. The elf could ride in the passenger seat or vice versa.
I wouldn't travel any distance or speed like that though.
          Good Luck!

WE JUST HAD FOUR OF OURS IN THE CHRISTMAS PARADE. WE USED TWO FURNITURE QUILTS ROLLED UP AND STUFFED DOWN AT THE TOP WELL WALL AND BETWEEN THE SIDE RAILS. SNAPPED THE BOOT IN PLACE,LET THEM SIT ON THE BOOT AND LET THEM PUT THEIR FEET ON THE SHELF BEHIND THE SEATS. WORKED GREAT.

              Re: help with seat

Check my posts back in November on "How do you carry a dignitary in a parade?" I explain the process and how well it worked. I had TWO people up on the boot - no problems. Travel ONLY at low speeds. Note how I provided a "hold on strap" in case the rider felt insecure.

              Good luck!!

Thanks, sooooo much, it will be a short back road tour of our islands, maybe 20 blocks or 1 1/2 hours. Very small parade and A 6 ft 170 lb santa. I will check out Tom's ideas and like the quilt one. Hopefully can take some pics. Luv Joy
