  • Blizzard of '09

Thought it would be exciting to find out how others fared after the blizzard on December the ninth. As for me, just for fun, I backed the '02 out of the garage to see what it would look like next to the snow.

    Enjoy!

We didn't get much snow here in Northern Indiana but it sure got cold. Seven degrees with a wind chill factor of 14 below Zero. Leroy

How do you keep the snow off the roof of the house? I did not see
2 ft. of snow up there.

            2 feet???

You guys in the south must measure 2 feet different than we do in Canada. Two feet is 24 inches here, and yes you do have to get up on the roof in major storms if you got really good insulation... Otherwise the heat from your roof melts the snow...lol...

Fared just fine here, no snow, just a lot of cold air and cool breezes.

That bird looks like it wants to go back in the garage.

I can't wait to see your snowman. Be careful and don't step on him!

Very impressive Frits but that is 20 cm. , so only about 8 inch . Perhaps you had one too many drinks and spilled the last one (Rye on crushed ice).

Jerry, we got lucky and the winds picked up and blew most of it off, but there is times when we have shovelled away some of the white-stuff to prevent a potential disaster.

In NW Iowa we received 10 inches of beautiful snow then came the 40 MPH winds that kind of piled it up. OUr actual temperature Tuesday morning was -14 degrees. No complaining here! We operate a choose and harvest Christmas tree farm and this is the first measurable snow fall of the season for us. I enjoy a good blizzzard---really don't have to go anywhere---warm home, good book, propane fireplace, wonderful wife. The only complaint is that the picture on the big screen TV is made smaller with the scrolling of school and business closings.
