Re: Thinking of purchasing a T-Bird.

There is a 2003 007 for sale on ebay right now in Jacksonville, Fl. and they have a "buy it now" price of only $44,900.00 . 814 orig. miles . It is #115 of 700. This car was also for sale in the spring of this year. Same mileage back then so has not gone very far.

And for that asking price it will still be available next spring and beyond.

Dave them "Transplants" got to have something for their snow blowers to chew on. I'll bet there are more snow blowers (and sleds) brought South than we would imagine.

Martin, down here in Wisconsin we call that art to "dicker" or "dickering." Spose that's sorta like what we call a "bubbler" others call "fountain" and what we call "soda" others call "pop." Anyway, I'm certain that some day soon our Thunderbirds will be gauged against a collector's market value and not just an ever depreciating dealer's market...think: supply and demand...the supply is comparatively very limited!

Not sure how credible the following reference is, for example, a 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT is now trying to fetch more than double the money, granted, in 20 years inflation devalues the dollar, and it takes more dollars:

...now consider that the Fiero's have no classical history like T-bird which had about 68,000 built in four years, while for the Pontiac Fiero which is a much lesser grade auto, for which the production numbers were quite high 370,168 Fieros were produced over the relatively short production run of 5 years. -Lindy

One would wonder how many of those "Fiero's ?" got melted down to make new parts for Retro Thunderbirds .

BTW. It is 'down here ' in southern Ontario and 'up there' in Wisconsin.

Anyway, guess us 'barterers' will have to keep 'dickering' when we find our next purchase.
Happy Holidays to you all 'up there' in Wisconsin.

Now, where did I put that can of pop.

Re: Thinking of purchasing a T-Bird.

Ok, Martin, you got me on that one, what a dummy I am...the country that's immediately south of the US border is Canada. I knew you'd gimme some flack on that one.

Yeah, while I don't know about the reference given, if you do a bit of research:most of those Fiero's pretty much lost all their value. They certainly were not built to the high caliber of the new Thunderbird. Anyway, the best value in these cars is the enjoyment they bring when we drive them. I'll just consider the money that I spent on them as just that:- spent. Any return after that is all gain.
