We had a freezing rain last night that quickly melted away by 9 am. We left the house and drove over the gym to do our exercise/workout routine, hit a local coffee house on the way home. All around the streets were drying and driving was great. We were gone a couple of hours.
Not giving the ice another thought we pulled into our drive which has a curve in it to approach the garage. The front of the garage is always in the shade.
As the garage door went up and as we were approaching the open door the T-Bird never turned with the curve, instead we were sliding on the ice directly dead center into the garage wall. We looked at each other, "OH NO!!" must have come from both of us at ther same time.
The T-Bird stopped. WOW! Was that ever close. What a heart stopper.
It stopped just in-time, never bumping into a thing. Just a wee bit of space between the front end and the garage post.
If I could have I would have picked up the T-Bird & given it a hug as one would do to a child that has just suffered a scare. Instead Evelyn & I gave each other a hug and went inside for dry pants.
