  • '04 Platinum Silver question (Dot?)

I've already checked Dot's site - couldn't find any info there. Was the '04 PS ever offered with COMPLETELY white interior (NOT white accent)? My Ford guy called me today with this trade-in that's on their lot now...

Play the video...you'll see what I mean. It really is white interior.

The car has the sand interior color (seats, steering wheel, shift knob), not white. The sand option was available on the PS.

The soft top will be sand as well.

      Elle:

I'm geussing that interior is sand also. The camera exposure they needed to have to get the darker details to show up lightened the leather shade, resulting in it looking like it is white.

Look at this pic of my interior. Always seems that sand comes out looking while.

Here is a link to a chart I made of all interior options available for all colors:
          http://www.portholeauthority.com/the...olorscheme.pdf

Platinum Silver only came with 4 interior options:
          Standard Black ink
          Black Ink Accent Package
          Light Sand Appearance Package
Medium Steal Blue Partial Color Accent Package

That's very pretty but I do not think it is white. I think in the photo maybe the flash may have washed out the light sand color or in cleaning the sand color may have lightened.

I think it is the light sand appearance package. The soft top should also be the sand color.

According to my Ford Thunderbird sales brochure in the color availability section for the Platin. Silver, one of the options listed under the heading Convertible Soft Tops Light Sand (included with Light Sand Appearance Package only).

              Hey Elle,

The interior is sand as stated before. All PS either had sand or black interior. I didn't understand why the partial/full accent package in white or red wasn't offered with Silver. I think either would have looked awesome.

My preoccupation for having at least a partial white interior is why I went with Blingbird's custom makeover in recent months.

Elle promised that her next Tbird would be a PCR, so she better not cave on this one.....unless she's going to buy a Platinum Silver and PCR

You know better than that, Jim! Chuck is right - the only other one I'd bring home is a PCR, and I'm waiting for a particular person in Chespeake to sell it to me (he's just not quite ready to give up driving yet).

....you want a platinum silver with a white interior? Take a Bond Bird and paint it silver....A person in town wanted a particular shade of blue to match a dress, it is told....and converted a Bond Bird to do so....complete with matching blue inserts on the seats...I've seen the car and it is an odd shade of blue that does'nt work for me...more shocking I think for me was defiling a new Bond Bird to do so. I wonder what number it was?....It was early in the run and it was a Canadian Spec.

Martin: If it was sold new in Calgary, it most likely came from Universal Ford Lincoln. They had it for sale in April 3rd, 2003. They may still have a copy of the 'bill of sale' or vehicle description on file. If you want to check, the VIN is 1FAHP62A23Y105271
Seems a shame to do that with a Special Edition . Let me know if you get the consecutive unit number of 700 for that one.

ps. There was a 007 sold new in Lethbridge (Jim Chow, owner) ,one in Ft. McMurry/Edmonton as well as one in Langley, BC. That is all I have on file for the Western Provinces.
