100_1996 (Small).JPGToday at work a semi rigg was backing up to a nearby trailer in the parking lot. While the driver was backing up he turned and the front tire clipped the end of my bird. The owner of the trailer came inside the shop and told me they needed me outside. When I got outside, he said the truck driver had hit my car. Traded insurance information. Called the freight company just before lunch. He said the driver had not been into the office yet. So he said to call back tomorrow. Took the car to two body shops. Visible damage around $2,000.00.

No fun, Roy. Are you considering getting another vehicle to drive to work now?

I'm sorry to see that happened again to you Roy. The car has been in 2 accidents now. Get it repaired and then just run it until she don't run no more.

Plenty of clean low mileage Thunderbirds will probably still be available for many years to come if you want to replace this one when it wears out.

Probably too slow of an accident to cause any frame damage. The lines on the trunk still look good as well. A simple bumper replacement and color match should do the trick! No need to trade this T-Bird in. :)

              Re: Another OUCH

Sometimes a car just seems to be a tough luck case. My 95 Lincoln Mark VIII was hit 3 times in one year: rear $1,000, front $4,000 and driver's side $1,200. Two hits while it was parked and the last while one stoped at a light and had a dump truck change lanes claiming he didn't see me despite the fact that I was at the light before he got there.

They say things run in 3's; lets hope this isn't the case with your Bird. For a while I thought the Mark had a target painted on it.

              Good luck.

Sorry to see this Roy. Here's hoping that the insurance will come through with no issues & your bird will be back like new soon.

Roy, if there is an upside it is just the bumper cover and license plate trim panel ... Thank Goodness it was not sheet metal or fiberglass.

Sorry to see that Roy, but is does look superficial. A new rear cover and she'll be good as new.

I understand how you feel. I had a car backed into by the UPS truck at work one time. It hurts but it is repairable and, hopefully, will be good as new.
