The Thunderbird Concepts car cover was on backorder, so we have been using my former ragtop's cover for the time being. We have extremely wind and rain conditions here and the cover blew off over night (my 110 year old home does not have a garage -- sadly).
ANYWAY -- here is a picture of the car out in the rain with the new top! Not the best photograph as I took it with my blackberry.
Kathleen, now that looks really good!

A little bit like a white cloud on a blue summer sky . Sweet!

If I had not just bought new tires for the car about a month ago -- I would definitely do this. That would have been incredible; I agree with you!

I guess you know me, huh?!! My husband even moved my Jeep Wrangler out of the way, so I could keep looking at the car!

Thank you! I am positively in love with this car! I took it out today to roadtest the weather-worthiness since it was raining pretty hard with high winds. No leak. There is a bit of a rattle in the roof....will have to figure that out.

Make sure your handles under the portholes are pulled all the way forward and perhaps check the torx screw downs at the front header to make sure they are completely tightened down. Don't over tighted these however just until you meet with some resistance; you don't want to strip the threads in the header.

Kathleen, the car looks great. At some point I will for sure be getting a white top or will get another color and drop another grand to get it painted. Really looks good, congrats!!

Gord - again, thanks for the tips.

Chuck -- How many tops are you up to? :) I think I may just have to try to keep up with you. :)

katxoxo, If none of the other suggestions stop the rattling of your top, chances are the weather stripping is shot. I bought a used top from an 03 and had the same problem. I ended up removing all the original weather stripping from the top were it seals around the rear deck. I found that the Ford stripping was about 3/8" in diameter and just a hollow rubber tube like hose and was very whimpy. I cut it all off and replaced it with a 1/2" solid styro-foam stripping. I could tell right away when I put the top back on the difference in how tight the rear levers were to lock, and there are no more rattles. Leroy

Kathleen, the DSB that came with the car and because the car looked so awesome with the black convertible top up I bought a black one. I also have the Silver on the NM which I haven't tried on the DSB yet. I actually ordered the car with the white accent trim a white top, the dealer screwed up and ordered a DSB top. Eventually I'll get the white one.

Leroy - Thanks for your advice.

Chuck -- I think the black hardtop looks sharp on the DSB. Actually - I think it looks better than the black softtop does, to be honest! There is something about the lines of the hardtop that really does make the car stand out.
