Ford production for the years '55, '56,'57 as follows.
      1955 production cars, 1,435,002 (includes t'birds)
      1956 "" "" , 1,392,847 (includes t'birds)
      1957 "" "" , 1,655,068 (includes t'birds)

note: these numbers do not include the Lincoln devision.

T'Bird numbers were given in post #2, so you can do the math.

Do not have numbers for the '02 to '05 Ford production yet

Check me if I am wrong---the new T-birds were mamufactured in the WIXOM ASS PLANT which had been a LINCOLN PLANT. I have no idea where the 50`s birds were built??

I think so, Ron. Don't know anything about the assembly of the tbirds for the late 70s to 90s birds.

                  Re: percent of t-birds

So, back to the original question from 'ewclement',

""" Does anyone know what percent of 55-57 all Fords were 55-57 t-birds and what percent of 02-05 all Fords were 02-05 retro birds? """

For 1955, if my calculations are correct, The percentage of '55 Birds of the total 1955 Ford production would be 1.13%. For '56 it would be 1.12% and for '57 it would be 1.29%.

Still trying to find total Ford production for the 2002, 03, 04, and 05 years. I would venture to guess that total Ford production for these years was much higher than back in the 50's, so the percentage of Retro Birds would probably be much lower than the 'baby birds'. Does anyone have those numbers.

                  MartinB.
