  • Portholes on Hardtop

I understand the Neiman Marcus edition was the only hardtop edition offered with the Thunderbird emblem etched into the porthole glass.

    My questions are:

    1. Did the original 'Birds have this in their porthole? Was it an option at the time?

    2. Has anyone bought the decals sold on ebay for their portholes? If so -- how do you like them?

    1. The early birds did not have emblems in their portholes.

    2. I purchased a set of these from Jeff Poole which is the seller on ebay. He is also a member of TBN. I highly recommend them.

He gives a price break to TBN members. I think the emblems are well worth the money.

Yes I bought decals from David A, way back when and put them on taillights and portholes. We love them, make our Bird distinctive, different and ours.

The eBay Seller of the emblems hasn't checked in on TBN for about 6 months.

I sent him an email via TBN asking if he still offers TBN member discounts. Hopefully he'll respond.

I have his emblems on my red hardtop, and I think they're very nice! I'm sure you'd love them, too!

                  Re: Portholes on Hardtop

I sent an e-mail last week and got a quick response. He does have a reduced rate for TBN members ($20 + $4.80 priority shipping). Although I hope he'll still have stock when I decide to buy, I'm sharing this because he was so quick with his reply. Send him an e-mail if you want to purchase - product had good reviews on other threads and he seems to be a good person to deal with.

This is one of my favorite mods, I got mine from Jeff, great TBN price for the upgraded look you get for your portholes.

the ones from Jeff Poole very easy to apply, .
they add a great amount of class to the porthole and really do look etched
                      Very Nice!

Jeff has been a LONG STANDING Member here, and has ALWAY'S treated us fair, and above board. I too, have purchased his "wings" and they are awesome, and add that touch of class to our Birds. His give the Portholes an "etched" look. They are NOT overpriced at all. I use DavidA's for other applications, as his bear the Thunderbird Bue coloring, are are FANTASTIC for all the other applications.

                        I give Jeff a BIG Thumb's Up!!!!

I went the cheap route..... caught one of these for zero dollars, but it cost me alot for crazy glue to attach it.... still waiting to catch another for the passenger side porthole..

You can never say Jeff Pooles are too expensive!! They certainly give your portholes the appearance of etched wings in the glass. IMHO
