Chrome vs painted wheels

My '04 Tbird has 4 Premier, 16 spoke wheels BUT, 1 has all spokes painted in metal flake gray (no chrome) and 3 have inner spoke gray and outer surface chrome......does anyone know the different type wheels Ford made for '04 and why I have a mix?

My guess someone replaced a damaged wheel and ordered the wrong style. The wheel came silver painted or silver painted with the paint micro machined off the face which gives it a some what chrome look.

You have a RARE MISMATCHED COIN!

The 16 spoke wheels came in painted and painted with "micromachine" finish. The latter simply machined off the face of the spokes before the final clear coat finish was applied.

It appears that something may have happened to one of the micro wheels and a painted one was substituted????

If you want to chrome them, I have read that it costs about $600 for the set.

Shouldn't be a big deal to find another machined wheel at local junk yards or Ebay and then sell your painted one or keep it for a spare. Leroy

2004 16 spoke wheels never came chrome from Ford. Many have chromed them and they look great.
