Maybe one of our Canadian TBNers can provide some information.
My Passport sits on the left side of my dash and is hard-wired to the car. In the past when I have crossed into Virginia and/or Ontario I have always disconnected it and packed it away in the glove box.
Since I will be heading north again this year I wonder if all this is necessary. I read where the law in Virginia states that they can confiscate the detector even if it is not turned on but that has been challenged and the cops cannot ticket you or take it away unless it is turned on.
What is the deal in Canada? Do I have to hide it or can I just turn it off and leave it in place?
