    Re: what are they worth?

This the is start of that Bird's 7th year. Keeping that in-mind and the economy of Spokane I would think that is a fair price for selling a convertible in the winter months. I think the price reflects the fact that to many many people it just a car, nothing special.

Is it being sold by Wendle Ford? That is the dealer where I bought my 05.

I already have received my return on my car a 1000+ times!! You can't place a price on the friendships and the fun we have had together for the last 8 years!! The investment has been one of the best we have made!! Besides, this one will keep on giving!!! Someone else will have to worry about selling it and the price they get!!!

That sounds like an excellent deal. For that price, a TBird on this side of the mountains would have about 80000 miles on it!

I think that could be a good deal for someone if they buy it right. First, if they're asking 17.4K they'll probably take 16K or less cash. And before you buy it, take it to a Ford or LM dealer and have it inspected for the Ford ESP warranty if it passes you've got an 03 TBird with a warranty for 4 years or 48K miles for about 17.2K. Not a bad deal. Leroy

Why would it have 80K miles on it if it was on the westside of the state?

                  Re: what are they worth?

Good question. I saw a couple w/ that many miles on Craigs List. Maybe they originally came from out of state. I recently read that our Birds don't "melt" in the rain. I don't believe it.

I think what was trying to be said was: For that price, normally the TBird has a lot of miles on it. It's unexpected that this TBird is going at such a low price with such low mileage...

                        Re: what are they worth?

The new Thunderbird was marketed as a collectable from the get-go. However, imo, we are in the long transitional market period between "just another depreciated car" to "appreciated collectable". For instance, my '02 was pampered (and unbelievably like-new), it cost me twenty grand before taxes and other various expenses, it cost the seller forty five grand! It's normal for automobiles to have free-fall depreciation. Our Thunderbirds have been a bit more resiliant though. In Spring-time it is likely to see KBB prices up about a +500-1000 for the convertible premium. Supply and demand utimately will determine their destiny. Though I would opine that demand is helped by a good education on the historical significance of the Thunderbird. No different when someone is educated about fine wines; such a persons are more likely to pay more for a wine which has something special about it's winemaker, or making process or a particular variety or vintage of grapes that was used. That's what is so special about the new Thunderbird! Time will tell. In the mean time, we'll all enjoy them much. --Lindy
