I agree with David...next time we change out tires, it will be for the 55 series, WW's of course.

      Hi there,

Well, thanks for all the opinions so far. The Pirelli Zero Neros seem to be liked by several. Thing is, when I checked on the Tire Rack site, these tires didn't do too well.
In fact the tire that scores the best and has the best reviews and performance figures is the Continental Extreme Contact DWS. The latest version is available in the 55 tyre wall size. They are priced at $141.00 each compared to the Pirellis which are $110.00 each.
Anyone driving with these Continental tires on? They seem to score well in all categories.

      Thanks, Gordon.

I had the predecessor to the Continental Extremes DWS (not sure the specific name, but it was a Continental ExtremeContact all-season) on another vehicle previously and was generally pleased; however, they did get much louder as they aged/wore down. I have since switched to the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position. I've been very pleased with this tire and have it on two vehicles. Having just bought my Bird, I haven't made any tire changes to it (yet).

I do like Tire Rack ratings; however, one thing I've noticed is that a new tire (less than 1 million miles reported) will tend to initially get slightly higher ratings probably because owners haven't judged wear/noise/performance as the tire ages. You might take this into account as you look at the comparative ratings of tires on Tire Rack.

The Germans make a lot of good stuff… tires might not be on of the things they make good list. The tire you are looking at is new and maybe Conti got these right but all the people I have know who had Contis as OEM on their vehicles were very happy to get rid of them. They have a tendency to get hard, loud, and wear is not very good.

As I said, the tire you are looking at is new and it could be very good but the apple does not fall far from the tree so if their other tires are lacking then chances are these will be as well. Have to admit however that they do look good in the picture.
