O.K.- I thought my beautiful black bird was perfect(just kidding) then I noticed these red, oval shaped red plastic light covers(?) in the lower part of the doors. I think there should be a light going on when the doors open right? Neither light goes on ever. Can anyone tell me if there is maybe a switch I don't know about or the difficulty in changing these bulbs? I guess it will be kind of difficult to pay someone to fix something I didn't even notice. Other lights come on when the doors open at night so it's not really a hazard---but then again--it isn't perfect...

Re: Courtesy lights on the inside of the doors.
Hi Timothy!
They are reflectors, though a member reported back in 2004 that there is room behind the reflectors for actual lights. The LS has operating lights in that same area. Click on this link

Re: Courtesy lights on the inside of the doors.
Hi Timothy,
If I'm not mistaken, Ford Thunderbird pioneered the concept of the reflectors on the automobile door, back in the 1956 model year or so. Maybe someone more knowledgable could pipe in here. If that be the case, then these reflectors are befitting the retrospective concept of the new Thunderbird. Which is pretty much (to use a cliche') "cool beans"!
