I'm just curious... I've been doing a lot of catching up and reading old threads. I believe we have a Pink Galpin in this group. But have we seen many of the other colors show up here? I just wonder what has happened to them over the years.

I've had correspondence with the owner of an 02 or 03 Meadow Mist (came before the Vintage Mint Greens) but don't know if they ever joined here. A Galpin purple was at the first Las Vegas Meet. Again, not sure if they were members here.

      Re: Galpins

I saw a Dusk Rose colored 2002 T-Bird at a local car wash one day about 5 years ago, when I took our Expedition in to be washed. I asked the lady driver about the color, and whether it had been painted by Galpin. But, she said that she got it that way, and thought that it came painted that way because she worked for Mary Kay Cosmetics. Who knows? It sure looked like a Galpin-type paint job.

I think that I posted here on TBN then about that sighting.

Jerry, Galpin also puts a tag on their door jamb that says it's a Galpin car. Someplace in my files, I downloaded a picture of one of those tags off of their site.

Did some checking on the internet about Mary Kay cars. First, their pink cars started in 1968. In the USA they are Cadillacs, other countries, they use different makes, depending on country. They use a particular shade of pink (dusk rose is NOT the shade). They also use other colors in their program cars and other models of GM products depending on salesperson's level in the company. It's rare to see a Mary Kay pink Cadillac as they only go to the top sales level in the company but I did spot one a few weeks ago - first one I've ever seen. It was a very pale shade of a pearlized pink, a color they've only been using for a few years. They are leased cars and at the end of the 2 year lease, they are turned in and are repainted another color.

The only references I could find on the internet to Mary Kay pink Thunderbird were photos of pink retros saying they were pink like a Mary Kay car.
so with that said, I found this site with pictures of estates and one that showed a pink retro:

            Dot,

I didn't get to see the pink T-Bird with the doors open. I was just amazed that she brought it to our local carwash here. She didn't really know too much about the car. I've never seen it again in this area.

Just came across this today. Probably the most ever paid for an 11th Gen Thunderbird?

              2002 Ford Thunderbird
charity auction at Galpin Ford - North Hills, California
              August 21, 2001

The all-black 2002 Thunderbird was the first delivered to Galpin Ford. Galpin owner Bert Boeckmann donated the car for auction on August 21, 2001 with all proceeds going to local Los Angeles charities. The winner of the auction was Mr. Richard Reinjohn with his bid of $67,000. Only state tax and license fees were deducted from the proceeds before donating the balance.
