Hey Guys, I have a haze that is forming on my plastic headlamp covers.Any suggestions on how to clean? I would rather do it the easiest way possible. (polishing with pad attached to drill would tax my do it yourself talents.)Thanks, Bosco.

Re: Plastic headlamp cleaner
You can go to this link to view several products and some do not require an attachment placed on a drill or like device turning briskly right up against your bumper.

However, to do it correctly you really need to use a drill attachment and removing the headlight assembly (easy to do) is probably a good thought.
Are you sure the hazing is on the outside? Some reporters of fogged front lamp assemblies have complained of fog or hazing on the inside of the lenses and not the outside.Last edited by Lonestar; Feb 8, 2010, 02:46 PM.Lonestar

Re: Plastic headlamp cleaner
Hi Cecil, I have the same issue since I own the car. I use PlastX from MeGuiars. Works well. But haze returns after a number of weeks/months. I think it is from road dust and mud sanding the headlights while driving through rainy weather.Sometimes Birds travel far...

Re: Plastic headlamp cleaner
3M has a kit on the market for this....Some have used tooth paste when its not too bad.
Once done over I would suggest getting the headlight protectors. Griots Garage has them, as do others.
I put them on both cars and the headlights still look like new.

Re: Plastic headlamp cleaner
I kind of hate to admit this, but, I actually was forced to take my wife's Lincoln T.C. into Jiffy Lube to have the oil changed. (it was at Christmas time, and I was working a ton of over time).
Of course, they wanted to sell me every service that Jiffy Lube offers, and I declined until-- They offered to polish the headlight bezels at a special offer price. At first I was almost offended, as I have a seasonal detailing business, and I do that as a service as well. Instead of getting upset, I made the manager a deal that if they could polish the bezels better than I could, I would recommend my customers to go to Jiffy Lube for this service.
These bezels were in pretty bad shape, and I honestly thought I would not be happy on how they turned out. Never would I have imagined, how nice these turned out. These looked almost new!! I was impressed, yet skeptical on how long they would stay nice looking. I thought within a month tops, they would look just as bad if not, worse than they did.
Amazingly, these bezels look just as nice still today than they did the week before Christmas.Thank you for posting

Re: Plastic headlamp cleaner
I've got a product called Novus and it comes in 3 bottles with different roughness (1,2,3) especially designed for plastics often sold for refurbishing pinball parts. I've used it on 40 year old VERY yellow plastic rubbing by hand and can get it to almost look clear and new aside from deep scratches...haven't tried it yet on the Tbird but I can't imagine it wouldn't work well.
