While driving at 35 mph my 2004 bird lost power. Engine was running but did not respond when I pushed the accelerator. I coasted to a stop, turned the ignition off and restarted . Took it to my Ford dealer and they said it was a throttle block or
assembly problem and the necessary part is on national back order. that was 2 weeks ago and just advised that it could be a month or more as they have no idea when the part will be available. Has anyone else experienced this problem or does anyone have information regarding this part shortage? I have a Ford extended warranty with several months left. Previously had a problem with the engine surging and Ford had a program for this and repaired it at no cost. That problem was with a defective windshield wiper assembly which allowed water to enter the compartment and required new spark plugs and other material to be replaced. Hope someone might be able to tell me more about this. By the way my bird has only 19,000 miles on the odo
