Club Insurance???

I am a member of the NorCal Thunderbird Club and we have been looking into moving our club toward a more formal organization for the protection of the members during our events.

The big issue here is one of insurance for the club. Our only events are cruises to a place of interest and then return. These are conducted once a month and are limited to members and prospective members.

Any information regarding insurance companies that provide car club liability insurance would be appreciated.

If you are associated with a National Club such as CTCI or another, they should be able to help you. If not, generally around car club functions, you can find car enthusiasts who are in clubs that are assciated with National events and may be willing to get you what you need to know.

Since we are not a club, the insurance problem is moot for us. When we go to TBN events, the insurance is simply the individual car insurance. We've never been asked for 'club' insurance.

Personally, I have my TBird and a couple of other collector cars covered by Grundy. It is special collector car insurance and is set at an agreed value. The policy is very inexpensive relative to 'regular' car insurance and covers the car for any event with no mileage restrictions. It is available to anyone as long as you have a regular "street' car insured by a normal insurance carrier.

There are other companies besides Grundy. Hagarty is probably the biggest carrier of collector car insurance.

HAGARTY DOES THE CARTER COUNTY CAR CLUB INSURANCE. A ONE YEAR, ONE MILLION DOLLAR POLICY, COST ABOUT $300. IF YOU NEED MORE INFORMATION, I WILL CONTACT OUR LOCAL AGENT AS TO HOW YOU GO ABOUT THIS.
