  • T-Bird Wind Deflector

I've been recieving semi-regular updates from Dan at Love the Drive. They're working on a wind deflector for the retro Bird. They've scheduled production for March and are inviting people to sign up for updates. If you are interested - - -

Caveat: I don't have any information on this vendor, but the products look and sound like they might be worth it.

I don't have a problem with the wind when the top is down, even at high speeds, except once my hat blew off from a cross wind. I think windscreens are ugly and I've never seen one that complements the car. Do they stay inplace when the soft top is put up or the hard top installed? To me, if you need a windscreen, you need to put the top up. Just my 2 sense. Leroy

If it is anything like their other products it is just too big and ugly.

I have a wind blocker now that I never use because it is just too ugly and much too large and cumbersome.

I like the small screen blocker that is a factory accessory on the BMW and the Mercedes that attaches between the seats and doesn't go as high or as wide as the aftermarket stuff.

All that is required (it seems to me), is something to 'break' the vacuum that occurs when the wind force comes over top of the windshield. I'm not an engineer but if the Germans can make these work in a small format, why can't the aftermarket folks make it work in a similar fashion?

I agree with Rick. It looks like they use the same framed screen for every car in their catalog. I think the angled installation looks a bit strange. To my eye it is totally over-sized and very aftermarket looking.
