    Re: Guess who's Birdless!

I've seen a few of those Chrysler 300's on the street in that red color. It definitely catches my eye and is one pimpin ride! Enjoy it.

      Re: Guess who's Birdless!

I hope the day will never come that I want to get rid of my Tbird but the more you look at the new cars, especially the other retro cars out there the harder it is keeping our almost outdated Tbirds...

I have never owned a car as long as my Tbird already...

With the new cars having GPS, and every other feature out there and then some, our cars are almost already antique with features like just CD players and Automatic lights...lol

Way to go, Stan! In my opinion, right or wrong (I think right), Chrysler borrowed certain styling cues from the new Ford Thunderbird. There is some sort of common attraction anyway. Nice car!

It has features that I did not know it had and I thought I was up to date on what it had. Turns out it has variable valve timing a new feature on the Hemi. I looked at a Taurus SHO and was very impressed. They are proud if it too LOL

                Re: Guess who's Birdless!

The way styling has advanced over the past few years, our Birds are looking more and more "retro", which isn't a bad thing.

Took a long look at the new Mustang (tire kicking only) and was quite impressed. The few small styling changes have freshened the car up nicely, especially the little kick up on the quarter panel below the rear side window.

I'd like to see how the new 300 HP V-6 runs with a manual trans.

My daughter's 2007 Mustang convert (V-6) is peppy, but the motor seems to "drone" a bit when compared to the V-8 in my LS and TBird.

                  Re: Guess who's Birdless!

I still like my Thunderbirds and plan on hanging on to them but what I find amazing is the power that they're getting out of some of the new V6 engines. A new Camaro with a base V6 that puts out over 300 ponies. The new 2011 Ford Mustang with the V6 will do the same and get great gas mileage too. Here was an article from March 1st in USA Today that Ford dealers are getting plenty of orders for the new 2011 Mustang.

Paul, My dealer has a Candy Apple Red 2010 Taurus Limited that is absolutely beautiful. I'm trying to think of all the reasons why we do not need to trade in my wifes 08 Taurus Limited.

And here I am thinking how much I miss the simplicity of my 1993 Capri. Roll up windows, doors that did not lock unless I pushed the knob down, a simple radio and ohh the stick shift.

                          Enjoy the new ride!

Lon, that red paint with the tinted clearcoat on the Taurus is beautiful. Do yourself a favor and try the SHO before you pull the trigger on a Limited. Those 365 ponies and 350 foot pounds of torque will grab you and not let go.

I do know what you mean, it is taking great restraint for me to keep from taking the plunge on one myself. So many great FORD cars, not enough money or garage space to have them all.
