  • paint work is done

    Hello

If you read my recent thread, please recall that I had a paint mismatch that I did not notice at the time of purchase. Later, I discovered it.

I just had a large portion of the car repainted. It turned out wonderfully. They mentioned they used a special clear that they normally do not use, as it is more costly, but is better.

They also installed the chrome hood scoop and replaced the non-functioning taillight bulb.

The longer I own this car, I find the more I like the black color. I know it is common, and so possibly less desirable, but it sure does have a rich appearance.

Of course, I am not driving a bargain here with having to buy the boot and then repainting most of the car. But the most important thing here is that I finally like the car.

Never buy a car on a cloudy day! It is almost impossible to assess the paint. I noticed at a local dealer that a Corvette had been repainted in the front, and that the texture and tone were off slightly. That was on a sunny day. I went there again on a cloudy day, and although I tried, I could not tell the difference--and I knew about it.

Bruce, the reason they made red and black t-birds all four years is is because these colors are so desirable.

Thank goodness they made a special edition color each year for those who dare to be different!

Yeah, well as you know I did a couple of specialty colors over the years and I always come back to classic evening black ... As Cary Grant said 'Choosing Black is like a black tux and a pair of men's black Cole Haans ... It never goes out of style. Maybe why that is why Sinatra's early Bird was raven black ...

Black has the advantages of being sophisticated, historic (any color as long as it's black), and fast... that's why. I'm sticking to this story even though there are other colors I admire but do not desire.

BLACK IS NOT TOO BAD, IF IT HAS A SATIN SILVER TOP.
