AARP/Hartford may be cheap, but once you put a claim in they will jack your rate up to recover their payout. I know from experience.

AARP Hartford insurance program says:
First Accident Forgiveness†
We waive any premium increase associated with your first accident so long as all drivers on your policy are free of accidents and major violations for the previous five years.

Notice the date of my post......April 2010. My claim was for an accident that happened in 2005. At that time AARP did not have the "First Accident Forgiveness" program. We were accident free and had no driving violations.

Apparently, Hartford has changed their policy making previous posts' recommendations quite valid.
I thought we were talking about CURRENT insurance programs available to customers, not something that used to be. My mistake.

In MA you must have a car 25 years old to qualify for "antique" insurance. American Collectors insurance insured it as a limited production vehicle. Value @ $25,000 cost $500.
