We hired a new landscaper to trim our tall hedges in our backyard. While he was working away, I was in my favourite room in the house (ie. the garage or "nest"), tinkering as usual on the TBird. He soon came into the nest, his eyes lit up when he saw Blingbird, and very quickly said.... "I saw this car 2 weekends ago at Canadian Tire...." - he even remembered the time.

Moral of the story - if you don't like being noticed... don't own a Retrobird.
Mark, was that immediately after the stick up man got away in a blue RetroBird?

It won't be long now before they hunt you down like a dog! LOL

See you in a couple of weeks.

Weather in the high 80s here to like NJ. Took hardtop off and put it in shed for the summer. Took my baby to the Artic Circle for a root-beer float. (My wife came along too!) Caught a few people staring at the car!

I get asked all the time, by the same 3 guys, "when are you going to sell me that car?"

                Re: The Wow Factor

Hey to all! Had a very fair weather day in Wisconsin yesterday, so one of my daughters and I just removed the Performance White top from my Torch Red '05 possibly for the first time (only 2,350 miles on it), supposedly the previous owner may have removed it once, but wasn't sure, huh? So this was the first time for me using the soft boot cover (keep in mind I also have an '02), the boot cover has been folded and kept in the original bag for seven years, and the kinks came out of it super well. Long story short:

A lady, well advanced in years, in a pickup truck with a cap, pulls up along side of us at the stop light, and shouts out her window:
                "IS THAT A CORVETTE?"
                My daughter mutters:
                "its a Thunderbird."
The lady shouts "WHAT YEAR IS THAT?"
(and she was thinking late 50's or very early 60's)
                I shouted "an '05"
Lady shouted: "CAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE THOSE OLD CORVETTES...YOU KNOW"

Boy, these cars are fun, fun, fun!, ain't they?!
