  • My First Carshow Trophies!

Entered my 2005 Medium Steel Blue bird into the 30th Annual Rocket City Mustang Club All Ford Show today. 150+ cars, mostly Mustangs, and 2 retro birds, including mine.

John M. Clor, automotive journalist, author (The Mustang Dynasty), and member of Ford's Special Vehicle Team, was on hand to autograph books, and picked the Best Paint, Best Interior, and Best Engine in Show awards.

First, I won 2nd place in my class (2004-2008 All FoMoCo), and then, the strangest thing happened. Of all things, a Mustang guy who works on the Mustang team for Ford, who's written a Mustang book, judging cars at a Mustang Club show with mostly Mustangs in it, picks, of all things, a........2005 Medium Steel Blue Thunderbird as Best Interior of Show!!!!!!!!

You could have knocked me over with a feather! This was only my second car show, and I guess I did OK!

In addition to the trophies, I also got to chat with a few other TBN members that came by, including 1mintjulep (Steve), RED03BIRD (Steve), and 2k2tbird (Janice)! It was great seeing some of my TBN friends!

The weather was great, the top was down, and, except for a nasty sunburn I got, all in all, it was a great day to be a Thunderbird owner!!!!

      Congratulations Bobby - -

Welcome to the world of car shows. Wonderful that you trophied TWICE in one show. Just shows what great cars we have. Keep on attending the events and show off your BIRD to all the lookers.

I have entered numerous Florida Shows and have trophied many times. Rarely is there another T bird - occasionally one or two in the ALL FORD shows. Once I won 1st for cleanest car in the show - that one was a complete surprise with well over 100 vehicles participating. Ah, the art of detailing.

Our cars bring joy in a variety of ways. Every day is a great day to be a Thunderbird owner.

        Congratulations Bobby,

It was great to see you again. You represented TBN very well by garnering two trophies amidst the sea of mustangs.

Congratulations, well done Bobby. If the interior looked as good as the exterior I can understand they gave you first prize

                      Fritz,

I am SURE that what won me the trophies were the MSB models you and Dino made for me that we also displayed in the car...one on the engine cover, and one on the armrest! That's probably what clinched it!

Also, I think I had the "Super Elegant" fuzzy dice hanging, which, of course, set me apart from the rest. Also had the "high performance" Thunderbird Trunk Mat as well. How could any other car beat all THAT??!!

                            Way to go, Bobby.

I met John Clor at our Taurus SHO Convention a few years ago. Nice guy and very knowledgable about Ford vehicles. I talked to him about our T-birds then and he felt they were very important to the Ford legacy.
