Re: Drive it or store it??

Ya know, some people just kill me. I guess a few of us are just the dumbest people on the planet because we enjoy what we have differently than some people enjoy what they have. If you don’t like what I’m doing I would sure appreciate it if you would keep your narrow minded opinions to yourselves. You have no idea what my life is all about or what my plans for the future are. How about this – I hope you put 200,000 enjoyable miles on your car, get the heck off this site and go negatively comment about someone else you know nothing about.

Don, sorry to drag you through the muck, the bottom line is do what you feel is best with what you have as long as it is what makes you the happiest.

So who said anything about what you are doing?

The man asked for opinions about driving or storing and members responded, no one attacked you!

Whew, for a minute there I thought I was the only one that thought that was left fieldish. I used to work with a Korean pharmasist that explained an old saying as "I asked the question to the east and the answer came from the west?" Loosely translated to english: WTF?

I will say I do agree with the because we enjoy what we have differently than some people enjoy what they have. I've been doing that for years.

Perhaps Chuck was responding to an out-of-line comment, which due to its content was removed from the forum before we saw it?
Just speculating, in defense of a Yankees fan.
I've always thought that emoticons were corny, but I've seen a number of posts here in which they could have been used to defuse potentially but mistakenly troublesome observations.

Sealy, you crack me up! Also, in Chuck's defense, we (as storers) are certainly in the minority on this site, and it's sometimes easy to get defensive when people seem to be saying we're crazy (or stupid) for not driving our cars more. But as long as we all remember that everyone gets enjoyment out of different things, we should be okay.

I feel like I've been doing an awful lot of peace-making on this site lately. I hate to see my TBN friends mad at each other. Can't we all just get along?

Wow! Perhaps we're all too serious. Thank goodness we all have different interests and goals otherwise the world would certainly be boring!!! Do what makes you happy as many days as you can because in the end life is too short!!!!!

IMHO it's far too early to determine the collector's value on the '02-05' Ford Thunderbirds. They are still depreciating whether we drive-them or not. Exceptionally low miles is obviously always a plus for resale value. One of the key collector's market forces is the demography. The T-Bird is a great American icon to be sure, and the '02-'05 sure hearken back to the primordial version: vintages '55-'57 et al.; But will the next generation come to appreciate these new T-Birds the way that they appeal to the aging "baby-boomer" generation? Drive it frugally, and have the best of both worlds!

I got my Bird 2yrs ago and have driven 20K+ and enjoy every min. of it.As far as storing I don't have a garage just a car cover so if I left it the wheels will fall off it. Also have my '07 Caddy just turned 25 K on that .I'm trying to keep the gas co. in business. As far as low miles "what ever float's your boat"

I think the answer to this is the same as one on another thread about "mods"....it's your car, paid for with your money, do what you want to with it as long as nobody gets hurt or goes to jail.

I'm kind of in between on the issue. Bought mine new on '03 and have 13,000 miles on it. I love to drive it, but save it for nice days. I feel you should do what makes you feel good.

If I could drive my Bird year round I might, but the Winter weather conditions here just ruin cars, not to mention the salt they put on the roads. I have other vehicles for everyday use and Winter transportation, so in the 3 years I've owned my Bird I've only put 10K miles on it because I can be picky about when or where I drive it. Bottom line is when I drive it I enjoy it and when it's covered in the garage, I still enjoy knowing it's mine and it's paid for. Leroy
