My wife drives hers 10 miles to work almost every day and parks it in the Courthouse parking lot. Hardly a day goes by with out somebody commenting on the car. It's better than a new dress or hair style

Some here may not understand the distinction you were attempting to make here but I do get what you're saying.

      I've experienced this first hand.

I'm usually driving my own Merlot '04 with it's far more conservative sand interior. Last summer I found myself driving my wife's '02 (T-Bird Blue) into a local establishment where they know me. One of the guys working the counter noticed the car as he was helping another customer in the parking lot.

When he came in he sort of "ribbed" me over the car.

"What happened to the maroon T-Bird? You trade if for the "Barbie car"?"

Funny thing is as I walked back out to the car, with it's top down........it really is pretty. The blue accents inside do sort of SCREAM this is a woman's car.

I'm not saying men can't own or drive it but I do get what your saying and for the record I am more comfortable in my Merlot. It just feels more like ....... well........me, for lack of a better description.

I guess......... but there are different shades of blue.

T-Bird Blue really is a "pretty" shade of Blue........combined with the powder blue accents inside and the idea that this is my wife's car after-all........it's just hard for me to see it as a "boy's color".

I loved Driving my car from the First time I drove it. Now at almost 160,000 miles; it still Feels the same Driving it. Last Night my son took the car out and on the way home at 2.00 am he drove right through a Tornado. Now the car has driven through everything. Lets put it this way, how would you like to sleep on the Garage Floor for most of your life ? Get Out and Drive that Bird!!!

And here I always thought the merlot was a ladies color. My coral is also a ladies magnet. Nothing's wrong with that.

Re: Drive it or store it??

I bought mine figuring it would become my daily driver when I retired and my 94 TBird finally gave up.

I'm retired, but the 94 still keeps running.

Even when she does become my daily driver, she will not be getting that much use, as I use my Galaxie to go to carshows and for cruising, and I don't have too much need to drive a lot anymore.

The LS gets the bulk of the "around town" miles.

I guess I fall in the group of garage queen.I consider the car a classic .I didn't buy it to make money. But I can tell you this if some one is looking to replace there bird with a lower mileage bird as mine is its goin to cost you plenty more than book value because I have no problem staring at it for another 20 years!

Re: Drive it or store it??

I drove my 05 regularly for the first three years, couldn't get enough, put 30,000 milles on it. In the last 2.5 years I have put about 1,000 on it and will drive less than 200 this year. Love the experience every time I get it out. I call it "profiling the TBird" so the less fortunates without one can appreciate it.

The rest of the year she is in the garage, hardtop on the rack, soft top up, under the high-dollar cloaking device with a battery minder.

FWIW, it is wise to get them out for a spin every so often. Keeps everything lubed and smooth.

Re: Drive it or store it??

I bought a 2005 MSB with a MSB hardtop and Sand soft top and interior for a little over 27K that had 2693 miles on it when I picked it up on February 15th this year, It now has about 5700 miles on it. The way I see it I could store it and leave it for my first Grandson to reap the $$$ benefits of ownership several dozen years into the future or drive it and enjoy it. I choose the latter.

You got yourself one of them Klingon Thunderbirds? I can see why you would want to activate the cloaking device with the 3-EB color scheme. My ownself is working on getting the Merlot Marauder to run on dilithium crystals.

....now it's an 8 year old daily driver....I'm a lot more relaxed....I love it like my favorite shoes and my favorite jacket...It is well cared for and maintained.....It is acquiring a patina....It has been damaged, thanks to others who share the road....It experiences the 4 seasons but still looks good....and is still, and always will be, I think, a unique and satisfying ownership experience......

For those of you who store.... be sure to run your AC periodically even in winter. I fails to do this with my '75 this year and now I'm paying the price for repair.
