Re: Anybody know what this is used for?
That is one of the parts of one of the hardtop hoists - do not recall which specific manufacture used this part. It fits like where the windows seat in the hard top towards the curve and there is another strap (not pictured) that attaches to the rear of the hardtop.Lonestar

Re: Anybody know what this is used for?
This link will show what you have. It is the lifting bar of a hoist system. You can get an electric or manual hoist at Harbor Freight to complete your system. I have the same lift bar and the electric hoist . It works great.

Re: Anybody know what this is used for?
It looks like the lifting bar for the manual system my son got me when I first bought the car. Lonestar is right on where it goes, the strap clips to the bar outside the car and the plastic covered metal "hook" attaches to the center/rear of the hardtop. The large ring is where the lifting system attaches. The one I have came from California Car Cover Company (calcarcover.com)."Probably good enough, isn't"

Re: Anybody know what this is used for?
Does any else have an extra one of these, or know where to buy just the lifting bar and straps??
I'm building my own hoist from plans I received from "George" here on TBN. Just need to find a source for the bar and straps.Roger & Sharon Qsigpic
