  • Rear Wheel Well Liner

Driving on the Turnpike yesterday, I noticed for the first time a noise from the driver's side rear. When I reached home, I checked the wheel well. The plastic liner is loose - not hanging, but not taught like the other side. When you touch it, it will move and make the noise as it hits the fender that I heard while driving. I looked to see if it were missing any clamps, etc., comparing it to the passenger side. Doesn't seem to be. Is there padding or insulation between it and the wheel well that could have dislodged creating its loose condition? Any ideas? Thanks.

Take a good look especially above the tire, there is no insualtion and no reason it should be out of shape or expanded. You might have to pull the tire for a good look though.
I'll check mine if need be.

Actually on the rears there is insulation - the plastic push retainers don't hold the liner to the wheel well but the liner to the insulation. The back liner is held on by screws. - If I remember correctly 2 next to the spring, 3 on the back side of the wheel well just inside the painted lip of the quarter panel and 1 nut in the front of the wheel well near the bottom pretty close to the middle. The rear liner is 1 piece. The 3 screws just inside the lip and the bolt should be visible without taking the tire off. To get at the ones in the back by the spring the tire needs to come off
