    Re: pin stripes

I have thought of pin-stripping my black w/ sand. Only thing is, I'm not sure which
would be nice, without being overbearing. Has anyone painted stripes on this color combination?

        Thanks
        I'd suggest either black/white or black/silver

I did. One thin stripe matching the sand seats. Very tastefully done and not overbearing at all!

The way to eliminate this is to detail the car correctly, and there will be no residue to worry about.

                  Re: pin stripes

PaBlkBrd, That's exactly how I want mine done only in Red to go with my partial red interior. I like it from the louvers back. Those Wires with the WWs are REAL nice too. I think I'm going with Diamond Back Red Lines when I replace my tires. My Bird was originally a PA. Bird, I bought it in Lancaster, PA. Leroy

Thanks Leroy, the redlines will look sharp. I have seen them on a wisper white with wires, another great combo. We cruise Lancaster County quite often.....nice country

My black/saddle could really pop if I added saddle pinstripes.

                        Re: pin stripes

Conventional wisdom is to have the stripe match the interior color. Seems to be what most have done and they all look nice. I have one thin stripe of white on my coral.

                          Re: pin stripes

Funny this thread should come up. I've been thinking about painted pin stripes for about 6 months now. At a recent car show I was checking out various retro birds with striping to get ideas. I did see car like mine and it had turquoise (or aqua) pinstripe which matched the dash pointers. I want something simple but complimentary. Where I have an all black car (inside & out) I was thinking of a deep red stripe. I'm also toying with the idea of new tires and I like the look of the Vogue tires with the white wall and the thin orange stripe so maybe an orange stripe would be nice. Suggestions anyone?

Bill, our member EllisonCal has a sand-colored stripe and a red stripe on his EB, and it really looks sharp.

I had my WW done with a red stripe to match the full red interior. Same artist who did Claude's car did mine as well. He free hands it and it's amazing to watch him work.....Had mine done a few years ago and love the look.....

                                Re: pin stripes

Birdlover, I think the Aqua pin stripe would look good from the louvers back if you could get and exact color match to the Aqua on the hood and trunk emblems. I've thought about it but I think I'm going with Red becuase I have partial Red interior. I've also considered a MSG colored stripe because I have a MSG hard top. I don't think a pin stripe would look good on a hard top anywhere though? Leroy
