  • 55th Anniversary travel home check in

Since I live only a few miles from Ford World HQ, let me post that my trip home was uneventful, hot and sunny.

Let me be first to applaud Tbird Paul and Marie Brucker, and the crew for excellent and diligent prep for awsome events, and managing 298 cars on the showfield and 100 cars to the Greenfield Village today. Weather held out and storms left us alone.

    Great event!

    Hi!
I was a photographer at the event this evening, and happened to capture over 100 quick images of the car parade from the glass house over to Greenfield Village.
I posted the raw jpegs, unedited and reduced for web view at the following web site

I had hoped to meet up with old friends but weather did not look good and ended up not going. Sounds like I should have made the trip. Look forward to all the pictures.

Getting packed up ready to leave Dearborn for a two day trip back to Minnesota. Had a great time thanks to Paul N. and his helpers. Awesome sight to see all 298 Thunderbirds in front of the World Headquarters building. Weather cooperated for us also. Will check in when we arrive home. Drive safely everyone.

Got home around 3:00 this afternoon safe and sound. Traffic was good to us both on the trip to Dearborn and back to Tennessee. We had such a great time, and the weather was perfect! I'll take a sunburn over lots of rain any day!! Special thanks to Rick Rae for hauling my Dad around all weekend - he really enjoyed hanging out with you. We all enjoyed getting to spend more time with my TBN buddies. I may have missed this in another thread, but does anyone know how we can get copies of the pictures taken at the test track on Friday?

Re: 55th Anniversary travel home check in

Just got home - 750 miles, under 12 hrs including a stop for breakfast with the return Western caravan group, a stop to see my Brother and family, and was able to pick up the pup a day early - so made good time.

Five cars - Paul & Rosetta, Gary, Bill, Mike, & I started out this morning at 6:30 - no weather issues until Bill and I hit Chicago and we found the rain that had held off from the event all weekend.

Great event, lots of fun, and it was really nice to see so many familiar TBN faces.

                        More later...

Back home early afternoon with no delays. Thanks to Paul and his gang from the WWTB club. It was a great weekend and enjoyed all the scheduled events. (even the beer tent up on the deck) (well, no tent o/k) . As for the pictures taken , Darsi, talked with Mark just before we left and his understanding is that they will be put on a disk and made available to all those registered for a small handling fee.
                          A very memorable weekend.
