Just curious... I was at the 50th Anniversary and received Thunderbird collectibles. The same sort of thing was mentioned regarding the 55th Anniversary. I did not attend, but I wondered if collectibles were handed out or available, and, if so, what were they?

In the packet we got when we arrived there was a 3" x 4" metal plaque - a picutre of Ford HQS with "Thunderbird 55th Anniversary" at the top and "Dearborn, Michigan" and June 26th 2010" at the bottom.

Also, don't forget about the box of Mustang/Thunderbird cookies.

Most got the dvd, poster and cookies. I believe an announcement was made when they first started handing them out that you needed to be by your car -- retrobird owners were the first to get them. Later in the day, they were just put in the car if the windows were open.

              Re: 55 Anniversary collectibles

We did make the announcements. Then we loaded up the stuff into two golf carts and took them to every car. I bought the cookies out of the show budget. They were just baked three days before the show. FRESH.
The car companies are reluctant to spend much money, and after much negotiatiating, the reflections photo and the DVD was all I would get Ford to buy for us. They had those specially made for us. I paid at least $30 for mine from the Ford Collection. We are deciding if we can afford to make CD's or DVD's of the show from the Ford photos I have received. They are fabulous. All the stuff we gave away at the Friday dinner was given to me by Ford also. Not much, I know.

                Re: 55 Anniversary collectibles

I thought the giveaways at the Friday dinner were great - they just kept coming! I'm still enjoying reading my history book and realized too late that I should've gotten our famous collector authorities Dot Lang and Steve Legel to autograph it for me!

Paul, I would have no problem paying for a CD of the photos from Ford. Even if you can't afford to make them and send them to everyone free, I really would like to be able to get copies of the photos somehow and don't mind kicking in some cash for that opportunity.

We agree with Darsi. We would be willing to buy the photos!

Paul, you and your group did a great job with the 55th Anniversary. We really enjoyed every minute of it. Great food, great company, great cars, great events, and even an elephant! LOL!!

                    Re: 55 Anniversary collectibles

I was very appreciative of the goodies. While I have the Reflections poster in a larger size already, I really like the smaller one as well. I didn't have the 100th Anniversay DVD and wasn't able to atend so I'll really enjoy it when I have time to give it a good look.

Thanks for getting the fresh cookies, Paul. I noticed that they have a 2013 expiration date or something like that so I guess they use some really great preservatives on those things.

Rosetta won a nice Ford Racing cap on Friday, which I immediately confiscated.

You did a great job with a very small budget, Paul. You absolutely have nothing to apologize for or feel sorry about. Hope you are getting some much needed rest.

I think a lot of folks would be happy to chip in to get a DVD of the Ford pictures. I know we would.

Quite sure Ford would not take all those pictures to store in their archives so whatever you can work out Paul, will gladly pay for a copy and shipping costs.
Thanks again for a great and memorable weekend.

I agree with everyone else about paying for the pictures, I know we would all like a copy just let us know the cost.

                          Re: 55 Anniversary collectibles

Well - - I stand corrected. When I mentioned it to Charley last night he said he had put all the stuff - the DVD, poster, cookies - in one of his bags, and sure enough, it was still in there. So last night was kind of like Christmas! I just love surprises.

I, too, would pay for the pictures!
