    Happy Birthday U.S.A.

We are going to celebrate by taking the black bird out for dinner, Mexican food. Times are a changing.

We didn't do anything special today...
      or did we?

We woke with the sun this morning - took the Poms for a leisurely walk around our neighborhood then enjoyed a relaxed breakfast and read the Sunday paper while sitting beside the pool.

Spent the day doing normal stuff -
cleaning the tar off of Moondoggie (some of you know why)...
helped a neighbor clean his pool while his kids & wife played in ours...
cut some roses from our bushes and made an arrangement for the table
picked some tomatoes, peppers and assorted veggies from our garden
      took the steaks out
fired up the grill then ate our fill...
now sitting outside watching the dragonflies flit around the pool and will
later watch "A Capitol Fourth" on TV...

        Re: Happy July 4th

I was talking to a friend in Springfield, MO today and he told me of the 4th of July Parade in town this year.
He saw 4 Retro Birds...I think he said there were 2 Black, 1 Red, and a Cashmere.
        Any of our members participate?

He was also surprised that about a dozen Pymouth Prowlers were in the Parade. That's a LOT for a town of that size!

Well, I can safely say that I had the only 64 Ford Galaxie in the Paramus, NJ, parade. (But then, I can pretty much make that statement regarding any car show or cruise that I attend. Although, I have seen a few 64's at the September Wildwood, NJ, boardwalk auto show.)

Only one older bird, a 57.

          But, it was hot.

            Re: Happy July 4th

I had a busy holiday weekend. I spent 11 hours in front of the Bel Air Safeway raising money for the Disabled American Veterans in the Forge-Me-Not campaign and collected about $850. Matthew's Young Marine unit marched in the Bel Air parade yesterday and fireworks last night. Today was mowing 2, very dry, parched acres of lawn then a visit with my daughter and son-in-law.
