  • History of TBN

Being a new member of TBN (purchased '05 Cashmere in October 2009), I am curious about the founding mothers and fathers of TBN. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading posts and learning more about the folks and their TBirds.

I could no doubt search old posts, but am sure there must be other new members who would enjoy knowing the origins of this wonderful site.

    Re: History of TBN

Merle, When I get an hour or two I'll write something up about this. I'm sure I won't remember all of it but I have been here from day one of TBN starting. Myself and a few others were in on the ground floor.

The link cited in post # 3 above goes thru March 2005. In May 2006 the current owners bought TBN from the Justins.

Thanks for bringing that thread back. Reading it, it seems to cover most of the beginings. Perhaps you or GoBird can take the pertinent parts and consolidate them into one long post so it flows properly.

WOW, such memories. Good, bad, ugly and terrific all rolled into TBN.

          LOVE IT!!!!
Unbelivable TBN trips including ALL of the lower 48 States plus 9 Canadian Provinces, 8 European Countries, 3 Caribbean Countries, Countless National Parks and have attended well over 100 TBN Events since 2001 and counting. Best of all ... fabulous friends.

            Re: History of TBN

I had forgotten all about that. Heck, that was five years ago. A lot has changed from those Good Old Days but what has made TBN special hasn't changed. A lot has been learned over the years as far as running the site but the constant is the friendships are still here along with new ones made as we continue on down this long road we are all on and at this time I don't see an end to that road, it just keeps getting better and better. Little did any of us Old Timers ever envision what it would be like 8 years into the future.

              Re: History of TBN

Seems I learn something new every time I log into TBN. I'm into toy trains and I have
a K-Line flat car with two retro T-Birds. This car was cataloged in 2000 the flatcar has a
build date of April 2000 and the diecast cars are marked 2000 Ford Thunderbird. I have
often wondered how was the toy made in 2000 where as the actual car is 2002. Well
after going to the link in post three my question has been answered.

P.S. For any train buffs in the club the K-Line number is K661-1591
