Ford Accessories or Not

I bought a beautiful 2004 Thunderbird.
It has 32,444 miles. I paid $19,995.00

The original owner traded it in on a new BMW.

It is a premium model, Torch Red with the hard top and the Partial Accent package, Soft Boot, Select Shift, and 17" chrome 7 spoke wheels.

I see that the original owner has (had) installed the chrome hood scoop bezel, the Chrome wheel well trim, and the chrome tail lamp bezels.

My question is, did Ford offer these chrome pieces as a dealer installed option?
I believe the hood bezel is a dealer part, but what about the other items?

Did most T-Bird owners have these added?
I see them quite a bit when I look at gallery pictures.

Only the chrome bezel is a Ford part. The others are aftermarket made by QAA and sold thru several sources.

And, just anticipating the second half of the question, supposedly - they can be removed without damaging the Bird. Though you will damage the add-ons.

As to how many have added - chrome is a very individual thing. Some people add it until there's not much paint showing. Others are more conservative. I love chrome (my first car was a '59 Caddy), but I try to stay on the just a little accent side.

Also, welcome. One of the best things you'll notice with the red Birds is they are not triple-black. Don't listen to those guys.

JimBird, You might want to take your new Bird to your nearest Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealer and see about getting a Ford ESP warranty. Money well spent in my oppinion. Leroy

I added the chrome wheel well mouldings to me it brightens up the Bird.Later I added the chrome tailights , I won them at a Florida cruise as a raffle prize.As said to each there own. Welcome to the site and happy T-Birding.
