  • The 'sickness' is growing...

Well, the 'sickness' that is normally referred to as 'keeping a car clean' is growing. While AGAIN laying on the driveway(cleaning off the paint transfer from my late mother's scrape against her garage wall) I noticed something that IMMEDIATELY caused me to go into action...DIRTY CHROME exhaust tips! They looked as though they had never been touched. I spent 20 minutes washing and wiping down these poor neglected exhaust tips. Then another 20 minutes in my garage looking for chrome polish, to no avail.
This shiny car stuff is all so new to me...Kurt

Clean and shiny exhaust tips show that you care to do the very best. Don't forget to do the same to the inside of them.

I always wear protection on my tips. These would coordinate well with your red Bird . . . .

Kurt.....sounds like Stage 3 of the disease. Maybe you should look into a lift to avoid all that lying on your back.

Don't forget to take the wheels off and clean the backside.

And remember to put fresh clean air in the tires. That is very important.

Sometimes, I think that OCD is a prerequisite illness for being a true TBN member. I know that I am guilty more often than I care to admit, ( the cells in the grille, inside the door jams, and yes, inside the chrome exhausts).

The real problem is that most of us do NOT want to find a cure for the ailment. We are quite content with all the side effects.

And you should ask Jim Heath about the water spots on the underside of the rocker panel...you don't want the person you run over to see those, do you?

While you are cleaning the tips you might as well polish the entire system and be sure to clean off those rear shocks.

Since I'm not a mechanic, I take my car to the dealer to get the air in the tires changed once per year.

Strange, they look at me in a very funny way, but they don't charge much for the air change.

Wait until you get the scam (my opinion only) of $40 worth of nitrogen for the tires.

But...the nitrogen is "purified"nitrogen. Obviously worth the extra money!
