Since I started using synthetic motor oil, I have improved my highway mileage buy 3 to 4 MPG, depending on speed. Has anyone found the same improvement?

Pls advise what oil you were using and what synthetic you are using now.
While full synthetic can provide slightly better MPG over conventional oil, 3 to 4 MPG is generally not typical.Lonestar

About the only thing I'd put conventional oil in these days is my lawn mower. The protection offered in synthetics vs conventional is worth every single extra penny paid and then some.

Motorcraft now has a fully synthetic (if you want to call Group III oils synthetic) 5W20 as well as the blend. It does however start giving up at around the 5K mile mark.
Recently Conoco-Phillips change the formulation of MC 5W20 and the change may prove that it is not as good as it was. Time and used oil analysis will tell. It certainly still meets the Ford WSS- M2C930-A spec. Conoco-Phillips appears to have made Kendall their flagship oil for now with Phillips 66, Conoco, and 76 being a step below Kendall. The MC branded oil is basically between these and Kendall.
If using MC 5W20 and changing at the manual recommended severe interval in regards to miles or every six months then you probably need to worry about something other then the oil in your engine. If you want extra measures of protection or what to extend change intervals (be that time or miles) there are other options to consider.Lonestar

I haven't done much reading the last while on Oils, is the US still the only place that allows group III oils to be marketed as "Synthetic"? If so does anyone in Canada know if they offer a Motorcraft "Full Synthetic"
Also is Mobil 1 still truly synthetic, I'm assuming Castrol still is group III, but I'm not up on who else is.

I use it because synthetic oils reduce friction, and change it regularly because of mileage, not length of time, usually it is once, maybe twice a year...
As far as the milage increase, from what I have been reading, 4 to 16% increase but it depends on the vehicle and as ours was using a synthetic blend of sorts, can't see that happening...
My opinion is use Full Synthetics...
Never really wanted to buy synthetics in the past but this car I am keeping and if I can do less harm inside the engine the better...

I've been using 5W30 full synthetic since each of my birds have had 1,000 miles on them - not for the gas mileage but for the extra protection. I change the oil in them every spring - I know I'm throwing money away but I usually put a little under 1,000 miles on the cars a year.
