  • Do you recognize this emblem

I received a offer to buy a new car with 1,000 off on certain models. The outside read "THE ICONS ON WHICH FORD WAS BUILT". Does anyone have any idea what car the Red White & Blue Thunderbird emblem might have been on? It looks really nice.

Re: Do you recognize this emblem

I replaced my V8s on Vintage Merlot with these Roadster emblems. Paul spotted them from120' the first time I drove into the parking lot for one of our Acadian Tbird meetings in New Orleans.
Not sure however, if the bottom of this badge was originally gold plated as it appeared to be in post #1 picture.

Re: Do you recognize this emblem

The car is not a true Roadster though, there is a back seat. It's just a 4 passenger TBird with tonneau cover. Leroy

                    Leroy,
We all accept the that you know everything...But...Ford called it a Roadster and made a special emblem for it. So why deny it is a Roadster?

Re: Do you recognize this emblem

                      As always, Leroy is right:

                      Main Entry: road·ster
                      Pronunciation: \ˈrōd-stər\
                      Function: noun
                      Date: circa 1812
1 a : a horse suitable for riding or driving on roads b : a utility saddle horse of the hackney type
2 a : a light carriage : buggy b : an automobile with an open body that seats two and has a folding fabric top and often a luggage compartment or rumble seat in the rear.

and the retro birds aren't roadsters either since they don't have a horse!
