Replacement J-hook 'cam'

So, I was putting the top up and failed to notice that the j-hook was not going to seat into the notch properly. I threw the center locking lever and the pieces of the part the chrome j-hook is set in fell in my lap. This made me sad. Long story short: 'guy in my town made an absolutely beautiful replacement from real steel (actually stainless i think). If anybody wants one, let me know and I'll put you in touch.

I must say I am surprised, to say the least, that I seem to be the only one (besides one other person) that this has happened to.

This happened to me several years ago. Ford replaced the entire convertible top lock down system for my '02 because that part was not available seperately. It was coverd under ESP. Cost me $50. Cost Ford $800+ from what I understand. I would be interested in the replacement info - just in case. There is a thread on TBN addressing the preventive measures to keep this from happening. It was done by Frits and has excellent instructions and photos. Unfortunately, I discovered it after the fact.
