  • Jeanne's New Arrival - 66 TBird

Well, it finally arrived. As a special unexpected surprise, it was shipped in an enclosed trailer. We took it straight to our mechanic to do a safety inspection and fix a couple of leaks.

Also putting on new tires. Unfortunately these have no mileage on them, but I think they were put on in 1998 just before the car was parked.

Then the fun begins. Lots of cleaning and detailing to do and some nitpicky things to fix. Will be a great winter project.

She looks great even without the cleaning.
I think you got a great car there when it's ready.
If Jeannie -or you- does not treasure it I might come over and do some real good

Paul: You can call me Thelma!

Actually, I think this is the very car that went over the cliff. I can tell by the way its been pieced back together. I've had the rock samples I found lodged in the frame rails tested and they definately came form the bottom of the grand canyon.

So, Frits, you needn't worry about this one .. it's a real lemon.

If she is as good as the pictures look, you got a real nice '66 conv. Just a heads up David, If you are getting new tires installed, have them check the rear wheels on the fronts and also the spare on the front. Over the years, some owners have experienced '64 (first year for 15" wheels) wheels getting onto the rears where they will fit and also the spare, but they will not clear the front callipers. With your low mileage car, that probably is not the case. '65 '66 and '67 wheels are the same.

OK. So it made it to Nashville. If you don't mind David, Bonnie and I are coming to check this car out next weekend and I want to see for myself just how wonderful it is. I was thinking of having Inspector Clouseau join us but I can't reach him. I will likely call Inspector Gadget for this one. He is more appropriate for this caper. Needless to say I will report back to TBN with the unbondoed truth when we return.
