  • Need Part # or Page

I need to replace a missing plastic screw that's on the top of the black engine cover. There are two that hold it in place. I have the shop manual but a quick browse could not find it...does anyone know the part # or the page where I might find it or even what section of the manual (orighnal Ford shop manual)?

I could not find it in my 03 shop manual either. I tried some of the on line sources like TeamFord and could find the cover and other related parts but the screws were not shown in the diagrams. Local Ford dealer may have more detailed info in his diagrams.

Gary, I think the part number you need is W705956-S300 - they are sold in packages of 4 (referred to as clips), and there is a "push button" in the middle of them to lock/unlock.

Hope this is what you were looking for.

They are W708656-S300 and are called pins.

They come one to a package.

I got mine at the local Lincoln dealer after I lost one!

They look like a large headed screw.

That's it. Thanks, I'll call Ford tomorrow with the part #s to confirm and pick up a couple of them.

The correct part number is W708656-S300. W705956-S300 are the ones that have that little push pin in the middle of them - they hold the plastic thing under the windshield wipers on / the thing you need to remove to replace the cabin filter not to be confused with W705589-S which are the use once retainers that hold the rocker panels on and the trunk lining on or N808842-S which is used to hold the hood insulation on - they're the same deal as W705589-S only bigger.

Re: Need Part # or Page

Are the push pin type of clips widely used across the Ford product line such that they will be readily available into the future? I have already broke and replaced several when replacing the cabin air filter. I am concerned that as our birds get older, these may be harder to find. I have been thinking about picking up some spares of all the types used on our birds.
