  • Up Grades

I have read the threads but nothing lately and not this combo . My 2003 has oem tyres with 33,000 miles ride seems like its getting harsh . 7 year old tyres I guess that can be expected . I am thinking of Mitchelin MXM4 245-50-17 98V pilots along with new struts ---Lincoln sport ASH 80 and ASH 82 . Any comments would be appreciated .

    Allen:
If you read the threads on tires I believe the majority like the 245 55 vs. the 245 50. Just do a search on tires , there's plenty of advice there.

      Most people have gone with 235 x 55 x 17 I have'nt heard of anyone having the 245 x 50 x 17 yet .

I'll just add this thought to the above. Have you checked the tire pressure lately? Does someone else check your tire pressures and maybe added some air?

I still have the original tires on my '02. They still ride ok and don't show any sign of cracking or rotting because the car is stored inside 99% of the time and they're not affected by the sun's UV rays. Eventually when the time will come to replace them, I'll probably buy some Diamond Back whitewalls in the original size because I have rear fender skirts on my car which don't leave much room for wider tires. Too bad Vogue do not make the exact same size which come on our 'Birds 'cause I'd buy a set for mine...

            Re: Up Grades

I am on my third set of tires. The first replacements were Pilot sports. Ride was harsher and these tires had slightly more tread noise. My third set are Toyo Versada tires, stock size.

I am very satisfied with them. Tread noise is nill, the ride is not as harsh as the Michelin Pilot sports and the handling is good. They are also less expensive than the Michelins.

            good luck
