You can click on each of the pictures to see larger versions of the pattern.

You said it in your first message, Ron, that I quoted above.

If you go to my webpage link that I posted above, you'll see the different background patterns - click on the pictures to enlarge them. The Scuff plate background pattern matches the trim around the dash and doors.

The Cashmere edition has a bird logo background pattern.

but the word Thunderbird and the Ford oval are the same on all the years.

Elle, it would have helped me if I had noticed there was a 2nd page to this thread (I read 40/page), then I would have spotted your posts and Ron's later ones.

            Ron, Dot et al,

Aha, yes, so the logo is the same, on the running board, but the aluminum is brushed on my '05 in comparison to the '02. I was somewhat aware of that tid-bit.

            Great and informative web-site Dot!

              Re: 1955 TBird Sightings

Lindy, I don't know if I should differ with you or not. The trim on the 05s that are not cashmere should be a tiny triangular pattern. The only reason that an 05 might be otherwise is someone has replaced them due to previous damage or they wanted to change the look and used an aftermarket trim. If you bought used, that's possible, or if you bought new and changed it out, it's possible but the scuff plate probably wasn't changed. Some of these you can't quite tell with our old eyes.

So do you know how to take close up pictures of your aluminum trim?

Dot, my '05 is the 50th anniversary edition. It does have some sort of distinct pattern on the dash, sill and door panels. -Lindy
